Yes. All CHCPTI First Aid and CPR courses are approved by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and comply with Ontario's First Aid Regulation (Regulation 1101), satisfying all Ontario workplace requirements.

BLS is the foundation course for all healthcare providers — start here. ACLS is for professionals managing adult cardiac emergencies (nurses, physicians, paramedics). PALS is for those who regularly respond to pediatric cardiac and respiratory emergencies. PEARS is an intermediate course for professionals who occasionally respond to pediatric emergencies — it bridges BLS and PALS. First Aid CPR is for workplace compliance and general emergency preparedness.

Yes. A current Heart & Stroke BLS Provider certificate is required before enrolling in ACLS, PALS, or PEARS courses. Additionally, ACLS requires completion of the ACLS Pre-Course Self-Assessment with a passing score of 70%. PALS requires the PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment.

BLS: 1 year. ACLS, PALS, PEARS: 2 years. First Aid CPR: 3 years. Recertification and renewal courses are available for all programs.
