Cancellation Policy for in-Class Courses or Blended

Registration and Payment

A seat in a course is reserved only after full payment has been received by the Canadian Health Care Provider Training Institute (CHCPTI). Registration is not guaranteed until payment is received. Unpaid registrations may be released to other participants.

Course Cancellation by CHCPTI

Although course cancellations are rare, CHCPTI reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:

  • Low enrollment
  • Instructor illness
  • Severe weather conditions
  • Emergencies or unforeseen events

In the event of a cancellation by CHCPTI, participants may choose to:

  • Transfer to another available course date at no additional cost; or
  • Receive a full refund.

CHCPTI will make every effort to notify participants of course cancellations at least 24–48 hours before the scheduled course date. During winter months, weather-related cancellations will be communicated as early as possible, generally at least 24 hours in advance.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Participants must submit cancellation requests at least 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled training date to be eligible for a refund.

  • Cancellation requests received less than 72 hours before the course are not eligible for a refund or rescheduling.
  • Approved refunds are subject to a $20 administrative fee.
  • Refund requests must be submitted by email.

Please note that online course fees associated with ACLS and PALS Blended Courses are non-refundable.

Rescheduling Policy

Participants may request to reschedule their course under the following conditions:

  • Requests must be submitted by email at least 72 hours (3 days) before the scheduled training date.
  • A $20 administrative fee applies to all rescheduling requests.
  • Rescheduling is permitted only once and only in exceptional or emergency circumstances.
  • Requests made on the day of training, including the morning of the course, will not be accepted.
  • Once a course has been rescheduled, the registration becomes non-refundable.

No-Show Policy

Participants who do not attend their scheduled course without prior approved cancellation or rescheduling will be considered a No Show.

No Shows are not eligible for refunds, credits, transfers, or rescheduling.
