Every one of our Heart and Stroke courses is taught in-person by certified Heart & Stroke instructors at our Mississauga Training Centre. Because assessment happens on the day, certificates are issued same-day and, as a result, recognized nationally.

Yes. CHCPTI is an officially accredited Heart & Stroke Foundation training site. All BLS, ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and First Aid courses are delivered by Heart & Stroke certified instructors, and certificates are issued directly by the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, so they're recognized nationally by hospitals, clinics, and healthcare employers.
They are. Every CHCPTI First Aid and CPR course is approved by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and complies with Ontario's First Aid Regulation (Regulation 1101), so it satisfies all Ontario workplace requirements.
BLS is the foundation course for all healthcare providers, so start here. ACLS is for professionals managing adult cardiac emergencies (nurses, physicians, paramedics). PALS is for those who regularly respond to pediatric cardiac and respiratory emergencies. PEARS is an intermediate course for professionals who occasionally respond to pediatric emergencies, because it bridges BLS and PALS. First Aid CPR is for workplace compliance and general emergency preparedness.
Correct — a current Heart & Stroke BLS Provider certificate is required before enrolling in ACLS, PALS, or PEARS courses. In addition, ACLS requires completion of the ACLS Pre-Course Self-Assessment with a passing score of 70%, whereas PALS requires the PALS Pre-Course Self-Assessment.
BLS: 1 year. ACLS, PALS, PEARS: 2 years. First Aid CPR: 3 years. Recertification and renewal courses are available for all programs.
