PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is an advanced certification for healthcare professionals who manage respiratory distress, shock, and cardiac arrest in infants and children. It covers pediatric assessment, evidence-based emergency algorithms, pharmacology, and high-performance team resuscitation — aligned with the latest Heart & Stroke Foundation guidelines.
PALS is designed for nurses, physicians, paramedics, respiratory therapists, medical students, and any healthcare professional who regularly provides emergency care to pediatric patients — particularly those in pediatric units, emergency departments, ICUs, and pre-hospital settings.
Yes — a current Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS Provider Certificate is required before enrolling in PALS. The course builds directly on BLS fundamentals. You must also complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment before attending the in-person session.
We offer In-Classroom PALS (14 hours of expert-led instruction) and Blended PALS (8-hour online component + 9 hours of in-person skills training). Both formats lead to the same Heart & Stroke PALS Provider certificate.
Your Heart & Stroke Foundation PALS Provider certificate is valid for 2 years. A renewal course is required after expiry to maintain your certification status.
