Pediatric Systematic Approach

Apply the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) and systematic ABCDE assessment to rapidly identify life-threatening conditions in infants and children.

High-Quality CPR & BLS

Integrate high-performance CPR and BLS fundamentals for pediatric patients, including proper depth, rate, and recoil for infants versus children.

Respiratory Emergencies

Recognize and manage upper and lower airway obstruction, respiratory distress, and respiratory failure using evidence-based algorithms and interventions.

Shock Emergencies

Identify and treat hypovolemic, distributive, cardiogenic, and obstructive shock in pediatric patients with early and targeted interventions to prevent deterioration.

Team-Based Resuscitation

Practice high-performance team dynamics, closed-loop communication, and leadership skills in simulated pediatric cardiac arrest and emergency scenarios.

Post–Cardiac Arrest Management

Apply evidence-based post-resuscitation care protocols including targeted temperature management, hemodynamic monitoring, and family communication.

Yes — a current Heart & Stroke Foundation BLS Provider Certificate is required before enrolling in PALS. The course builds directly on BLS fundamentals. You must also complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment before attending the in-person session.

We offer In-Classroom PALS (14 hours of expert-led instruction) and Blended PALS (8-hour online component + 9 hours of in-person skills training). Both formats lead to the same Heart & Stroke PALS Provider certificate.

Your Heart & Stroke Foundation PALS Provider certificate is valid for 2 years. A renewal course is required after expiry to maintain your certification status.
